Review of Silent Scream by Angela Marsons

In the Black Country of England, a killer has started taking the lives of people connected to a long closed girls school in Silent Scream. As Detective Inspector Kim Stone looks into the murders, she finds they’re also connected to the bodies of three young girls found where the school was. But the closer she gets to the truth, the closer the killer gets to Kim. Will she be able to solve the mystery and get out unscathed?

This was a good mystery story. I liked Kim’s character and her partner DS Bryant. Kim’s past is not very far removed from the girls who were murdered, so she really wants to get justice for them. I suspect there’s even more to her story than we’ve learned so far, but I guess I’ll have to wait to find out what it is. Bryant is a big softy at heart and the best scene of the story is when he rescues the dog and her puppies and takes them home. You have to love a story where the dogs are in peril and live. They wouldn’t have had a good life otherwise. I’ll be checking out the rest of this series soon.
