Review of Bountiful by Sarina Bowen

Zara Rossi thought her flirtation with copper haired Dave two years ago was just a good time in Bountiful. Then she found out she was pregnant and wasn’t sure of Dave’s last name or how to get in touch with him. Now, professional hockey player Dave Beringer has returned to Vermont for another vacation and found out he’s a father to an adorable little girl who shared his hair color. Dave didn’t have a good childhood and never thought he would have a family of his own. Zara had a father who was never around and doesn’t want the same thing for her daughter. The attraction between them hasn’t dimmed, but with a daughter to care for now, will Zara trust Dave enough to take a chance on happiness?

It was great to see how Zara’s story turned out after we first met her in Bittersweet. It’s kind of her fault that she never really has any personal information about Dave, not even what he does for a living. Any time he brought anything like that up, she immediately shut him down, not wanting to get attached in the first place. Dave was very cute learning how to be a father. He takes to it pretty well and even baby Nicole is pretty accepting of him. Zara’s family, on the other hand, is not. They feel like Dave abandoned Zara when he never even knew she was pregnant. But Zara never told them what had happened, so it’s kind of unfair. This is one of those series that keeps getting better and better and I can’t wait to see whose story will be next.
