Review of Killman Creek by Rachel Caine (ARC edition)

Gwen Proctor and her children have been on the run from internet trolls for the last five years, but now her murderous ex-husband Melvin Royal is on the loose as well in the second Stillhouse Lake story, Killman Creek.Leaving her children with friends, she and Sam Cade, the brother of Melvin’s last victim, go on the hunt for Melvin. When doubt is cast on Gwen’s innocence, she may find herself on her own dealing with Melvin and only one of them will come out of it alive.

I love getting Advanced Reader Copies of books, especially from authors I really like. Gwen finds out a lot about herself in this story, especially the lengths she’s willing to go to in order to keep her children safe. We also see more of how this has affected her children. This story also makes you fear the power of the dark web. The kind of things that go on there are truly scary. The fact that someone could create false evidence so easily is horrifying. I can only hope that kind of thing never happens to me. This was another great story from Rachel Caine and I can’t wait for more.
