Review of Graveyard Shift by Casey Daniels

Pepper Martin just can’t seem to stay out of trouble in the latest book, Graveyard Shift. This time it’s Garden View Cemetery resident Eliot Ness asking for Pepper’s help finding his missing ashes. When the suspect is murdered and Pepper’s boyfriend Quinn, her boss and her mother all start acting strangely, things go from bad to worse. Even her old friend Dr. Dan Callahan is MIA. Pepper is going to have to rely on herself to solve the crime, but the outcome will leave her life changed forever.

I’ve really missed Pepper Martin and her craziness. She just keeps stumbling onto crime scenes. You’d think Quinn would be more upset about that, but he’s really not this time around. I was disappointed we didn’t get Dan this time around, but Pepper has a new ghost loving accomplice to help her out and he even has his own ghost assistant. I suspect he might actually be getting his own series, but we’ll see how that pans out. The end of this story was a little sad, so I wonder what the future will hold for Pepper. Hopefully it will all work out in the end.
